Hamlet on the other side
I did love you once.
You should not have believed me...
I loved you not.
Indeed, my lord, you made me believe so.
I was the more deceived
What happens when there's nothing left to remember? Hamlet: On The Other Side is a reimagining of the Shakespeare classic exploring memory, remembrance, and the state of in-betweenness. It asks how we continue to cling to something or someone that's no longer there.
Hamlet is dead and leaves a bloody story for those that outlive him to tell. He is on the other side of life, on the other side of the abyss, on the other side of memory & in our case of gender. Combining scripted work with elements of devising, combining verse and prose, text and movement, the piece highlights the fragility of memory and the overwhelming power of grief.
